Men

One of the hardest things in life is to be a man of integrity. The tabloids are full of scandals and underhanded activities that confront all of us on a regular basis. As a group of men we want to encourage each other to rise above the 'norm' and show our colleagues and friends that it is possible to be men of integrity.

It is a well known statistic that our churches are 30% male and 70% female, and the balance is getting worse. In order to make church more relevant to men, we have a variety of activities aimed specifically at men. This is not only to encourage the men who are already in the church, but to make church accessible and attractive to men outside the church, the guys you work with or the mates you meet in the pub or at a football match.

We meet with other men from across the town on the last Monday of every month. This is at 8pm and is usually located in St Mary Magdalen Church in the High Street. We usually have a guest speaker and discuss relevant topics before finishing at 9:30pm to continue our discussions.

Forging Men also get involved in community action projects in the town, particularly with gardening and house DIY tasks.
